Solar & Renewables Electrician / Technician

Role

PDP Services Ltd is a leading local installer of Solar PV and Renewables for Domestic, Commercial and New Builds.  PDP is looking for an experienced Approved Electrician / Technician to install, fault find and repair a broad range of technologies. This is a great opportunity to learn new and evolving renewable technologies and for career advancement. IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLE.

Key Requirements

Technical knowledge and considerable experience of the key duties listed below:

  • Ability to work in a team and on your own.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good IT skills (For the commissioning of systems and set-up of online monitoring etc).
  • A sense of responsibility & loyalty to PDP services.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Pass an advanced background check (DBS)
  • ECS Gold Card – Approved Electrician.
  • A strong work ethic and can do attitude.

Key Duties

The installation, commissioning, fault finding and repair of the following technologies:

  • Solar Photovoltaics (All Types)
  • Immersion Controllers
  • Battery Storage (All Types)
  • EV Charge Points
  • Solar Thermal (Electrical side only)
  • Air Source Heat Pumps (Electrical side only)
  • Ground Source Heat Pumps (Electrical side only)
  • Monitoring Systems for all Technologies
  • Some roof works will be required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma or equivalent
  • 18th Edition
  • AM2, City & Guilds 2391 or 2392
  • BPEC, City & Guilds or similar in installing Solar PV
  • Must be able to demonstrate considerable experience and knowledge.

The following is desirable but will be provided if required:

  • First Aid
  • Working at Heights
  • PASMA
  • IPAF (1B and 3A)
  • Manual Handling
  • Asbestos Awareness

Domestic Gas Engineer

Purpose of Role

To be part of the domestic gas and plumbing department, to ensure; compliance, a professional cost-effective service is maintained, to act as an interface between the Heating and Plumbing team and the client, and to report issues arising to the Plumbing and Heating Manager. You will be required to be on call as part of the team rota.

Principal accountabilities

  • Responsible for the service delivery of the Heating and Plumbing team.
  • Liaise with the Plumbing and Heating Co-Ordinator and Plumbing and Heating for site works including projects.
  • Proactive reporting of all Health and Safety issues.
  • Liaise with the client to ensure customer satisfaction.

Experience

You must have at least five years gas, heating, plumbing and unvented experience, in particular servicing and breakdown. You must be fully qualified (see below).

Qualifications

  • ACS required. CCN1, CEN1 / CENWAT1, CKR1 and HTRI desirable).
  • Capable of wiring s plan, y plan, controls, etc
  • Awareness of relevant building codes, legislation, regulation and policies.
  • Gas Safe registered.
  • A clean, full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • CSCS Card

Heat Pump Engineer

Purpose of Role

To be part of the domestic heating and plumbing department, to ensure; compliance, a professional cost-effective service is maintained, to act as an interface between the Heating and Plumbing department and the client, and to report issues arising to the Plumbing and Heating Manager. This is a full-time permanent position. You will be required to be on call as part of the team rota.

Principal accountabilities

  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of air and ground Source heat pumps to a high standard working alongside the Heating and Plumbing department.
  • Liaise with the Plumbing and Heating Co-Ordinator and Plumbing and Heating Manager for site works including projects.
  • Proactive reporting of all Health and Safety issues.
  • Liaise with the client to ensure customer satisfaction.

Experience

You must have at least five years heating and plumbing experience, Gas is preferable but NOT essential, You must have at least one year experience with the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of heat pumps

Qualifications

  • Awareness of relevant building codes, legislation, regulation and policies.
  • A clean, full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • DBS cleared.
  • CSCS Card

Commercial Gas Engineer

Purpose of Role

To be part of the commercial gas and plumbing department, to ensure; compliance, a professional cost-effective service is maintained, to act as an interface between the Heating and Plumbing team and the client, and to report issues arising to the Commercial Director. You will be required to be on call as part of the team rota.

Principal accountabilities

  • Responsible for the service delivery of the Heating and Plumbing team.
  • Liaise with the Heating and Plumbing Co-Ordinator and Commercial Director for site works including projects.
  • Proactive reporting of all Health and Safety issues.
  • Liaise with the client to ensure customer satisfaction.

Experience

You must have at least four years gas, heating and plumbing experience. You must be fully qualified (see below).

Qualifications

  • Commercial gas qualifications COCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1
  • Knowledge of water supply regulations (BPEC or similar)
  • Knowledge of domestic unvented hot water storage systems (BPEC or similar)
  • Awareness of relevant building codes, legislation, regulation and policies.
  • Gas Safe registered
  • Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A clean, full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • CSCS Card

Testing & Inspection Electrician

Purpose of Role

To ensure; compliance, a professional cost-effective service is maintained, to act as an interface between the Electrical team and the client, and to report issues arising to the Electrical Manager. You will be required to be on call as part of the team rota.

Principal accountabilities

  • Responsible for the testing and inspection at customer sites.
  • Liaise with the Electrical Manager to ensure all works run proficiently.
  • Proactive reporting of all Health and Safety issues.
  • Liaise with the client and Electrical Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.

Experience

You must be fully qualified (see below), and to have at least 6 years post qualification experience. Previous experience in testing electrical circuits and installation in both domestic and commercial properties is required. Work is split approximately 50/50 between domestic and commercial sites. This is a permanent position.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or 17th Edition. 18th Edition Preferred.
  • AM2
  • 2391 / 2394/2395
  • Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A clean, full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Preferred but not essential requirements are:

  • IPAF
  • PASMA
